I have loved every moment of this class and I strongly recommend you go and check it out!
You first start with a visit to a small market. Let’s be clear, you are pretty much the only foreigners to ever come there as it’s at the back end of an alley. So you clearly can’t get a more authentic experience! Chef Lee takes the time to explain different ingredients & how to find the good ones and steal clear of chemically produced “stuff”.
Unlike other cooking class where the curry paste or shrimp stock for example are already prepared for you, Chef Lee explains clearly how it’s done. You even make your own coconut cream and milk (and get to taste and compare with the industrial stuff, wow, soooo much better).
It’s a really enjoyable experience and you realize how creative and fun Thai cooking is.
Just beware, you are going to eat.
Don’t take any breakfast and be sure to arrive hungry!
The cooking school is quite easy to find as long as you have a map of Bangkok, and I recommend you keep their phone close (my taxi driver was completely lost).
