My husband and I spent five hours of quality time with the Chef understanding a large variety of Thai ingredients, passing by a local market, tasting and touching fresh delicious produce and cooking. Chef shared so many techniques, secrets and made us realize Thai food is even more delicious than we knew it, when the dishes are done the right way. Mind you, we are recurring tourists in Thailand and loving Thai food. We left with great knowledge, tips, inspiration, laughs and love for outstanding food. Thank you, Chef. Coming to Chef Leez’s cooking studio in the outskirts of Bangkok we didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best culinary experiences you can possibly have. Chef Leez is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share her insights into Thai cooking techniques and ingredients as she herself learned them. She is a fantastic educator and the dishes we learned to cook, from scratch, taught us so much about what traditional cuisine is all about. 11/10 totally recommend.

If you’re visiting Bangkok and want to take home more than just souvenirs, this cooking class is the one to book. It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our trip! From the moment we met Chef Lee, we knew we were in for something special. She's not just an amazing chef — she’s a fantastic teacher, storyteller, and genuinely one of the kindest people we met on our travels. We were calling her Grandma Lee by the end of the class, and it felt totally fitting! Before we even touched a pan, Chef Lee took us to a local market, where she explained every ingredient in detail — including substitutions we could use back home. She shared stories of her own grandmother who inspired her to cook and reminded us with a smile, “Grandma no waste nothing!” Her approach to food was not just about flavor, but about heart, history, and respect. Back at her kitchen, which was spotless and professionally set up, we got to work — and the food just didn’t stop coming. From learning how to properly clean shrimp to making rich and flavorful tom yum paste (and three different tom yum soups!), every dish was packed with flavor and fun to make. I never even liked soup before, but Chef Lee changed my mind completely! We also learned how to use fresh coconut in all its forms — and were even gifted a traditional coconut scraper to take home. It’s touches like these that made this experience feel so personal and memorable. The menu was packed with crowd-pleasers: * Pad Thai — surprisingly simple and incredibly delicious. * Curries — rich, aromatic, and fun to learn how to make from scratch. * Holy basil stir-fry — spiiiicy. * Green papaya salad — refreshing with a nice kick. * And of course, mango sticky rice with puffed rice on top — the perfect sweet finish with a delightful crunch. Chef Lee’s sister also helped out during the class — their bond and teamwork added a beautiful layer of warmth to the whole experience. It was a joy to witness a family working together and sharing their culture so generously. To top it all off, Chef Lee went above and beyond even after class ended — helping us hail a cab (not easy during rush hour!) and getting us safely to the water taxi so we could skip traffic. Chef Lee has such an inspiring story and is open about her humble beginnings. She brings laughter, heart, and soul into her class — you don’t just learn to cook, you feel like you’re part of something much more meaningful. Bottom line: This is more than a cooking class — it’s a cultural immersion, a heartwarming encounter, and an experience you’ll never forget. The dishes weren't quite like those you'd find in restaurants, but they were definitely better. I also found the recipes much more nutritious; they didn't contain a lot of added fat, so I could cook them at home every day. Lee pointed out many small details during the preparation process to ensure the dishes tasted just right :) Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Don't miss it; she's the only one with whom you'll leave with, in addition to the 11 recipes, an incredible immersion in the local culture. Leez is full of life, good humor, humor, and a smile, and she shares it all like a truly good meal with friends. She takes care of her mind, her body, and her friends in many different and touching ways. The food we eat is one of the primary causes of our disorders. If you love cooking, this is definitely something you should do. We did everything from carving a coconut to creating our own coconut milk, cream, and oil. Then we went on to create a couple of different sauces, 3 different soups, 1 pad thai, and 3 different curry’s + 1 salad and desert. Absolutely amazing, chef is very amiable and really enjoys cooking. Strongly recommend!

My husband and I first took it around 2018. We loved it so much that we brought our sons with us during a trip to Thailand in 2019. Today, we brought our daughter. The class is fantastic and Chef Leez could not possibly be more interesting, engaging, helpful, kind, or knowledgeable. She also has a great sense of humor and her English skills are really good, too. The amount of cooking knowledge she packs into a short 4 hours is astonishing for even a fairly decent cook, but, somehow, she manages to teach the class in such a way as to be very approachable and fun even if you are the most novice cook. Don't hesitate to sign up and take her class. You will leave with a lot of confidence to cook Thai food and an extremely full and happy tummy because all the 14 dishes you will cook will be heartily sampled along the way. Arrive hungry - my advice is to skip breakfast if you can - and do not make lunch plans. There is one potential downside to taking this class - and it is a serious one! You will likely be forever spoiled knowing how this fantastic food is supposed to taste when properly prepared... in the future you may turn your nose up at cheap shortcuts and overpriced grocery items. You have been forewarned!

The cooking experience and food in this class was exceptional! Chef LeeZ helps prepare dishes that are easily better than the food that I ate from street vendors and restaurants in Bangkok. The kitchen is very clean, and Chef LeeZ follows thorough hygiene practices to ensure that all of the food is safe to eat. The cooking experience was phenomenal: Chef LeeZ is a versatile and highly skilled cooking teacher, and is happy to help adapt the dishes for different dietary restrictions and produce availability. Chef LeeZ and her husband are very friendly, and make the class atmosphere warm and unique. This class is very well valued! I would recommend that you budget some extra time in the afternoon past 2 pm -- my class ended at about 3 pm, which I was very happy about because it gave me more time to immerse myself in the cooking. It's not easy to fit 12 dishes and a market tour into 4 hours! I highly recommend this class, as it was absolutely the highlight of my experience in Bangkok.

You will be hard-pressed to find the equal to the taste-bud-popping flavours you create in class anywhere on the planet. Most restaurants take shortcuts, including flavouring with MSG.
